Rothschild porcupine on a log next to water

Porcupine

The Leatherback Marine National Park is the home to Rothschild Porcupines and we actually get one that comes and sleeps in our cashew apple tree from time to time.  They are nocturnal and can be quite dangerous to dogs who try to bite them.  The have long prehensile tails and can use them like monkeys.
